Sandrine Bertaux est historienne et politiste. À l’IFEA, elle mène deux projets de recherche concernant les migrations transnationales. Le premier, basé sur de nombreux entretiens,  porte sur le retour en Turquie des émigrés turcs ayant travaillé en Europe et de leurs enfants nés ou scolarisés en Europe. Le second est une approche institutionnelle de la politique d’immigration turque, notamment à travers les réformes de la loi sur la nationalité turque.
