La bibliothèque de l’IFEA entend s’inscrire dans un réseau de ‘bibliothèques soeurs’ et attirer ses lecteurs sur l’existence de bibliothèques se trouvant à Istanbul, dans d’autres villes de Turquie mais aussi dans les pays voisins. Bibliothèque Eptalofos Ouverte au public en 2003, Eptalofos (Yeditepe), en référence à la ville d’Istanbul, est une bibliothèque située à Athènes qui doit son existence à la passion d’un ancien habitant d’Istanbul. Installé à Athènes depuis 1979 et originaire du village de Gelveri en Cappadoce, Nikos Kürkçüoğlu a habité pendant de nombreuses années à Kurtuluş puis à Yeşilköy avant de s’installer à Athènes.
