L'institut français d'études anatoliennes - Georges Dumézil (UAR 3131 – CNRS-MAE) offre tous les ans des bourses à des jeunes chercheurs (masterants, doctorants, post-doctorants) français ou étrangers inscrits dans un établissement français. Les candidatures de personnes non financées seront privilégiées. Cette bourse est également ouverte aux étudiants inscrits dans les universités turques hors du département d'Istanbul.

Enregistrement de conférence

L’ « Histoire de l’Empire ottoman » de Dimitrie Cantemir Édition comparée à son original en latin

Nous avons le plaisir de partager avec vous l'enregistrement de la conférence du 2 juin 2026 "L’« Histoire de l’Empire ottoman » de Dimitrie Cantemir : Édition comparée à son original en latin" avec Cristina Birsan (Inalco, chercheuse indépendante).
Conférence autour du livre homonyme paru récemment aux Éditions Isis. Traduite en anglais, français et allemand entre 1734 et 1745, l’« Histoire de l’Empire ottoman » de Dimitrie Cantemir connaît sa première édition du texte original en latin seulement en 2002. L’édition parue cette année à Istanbul reprend la version française de 1743, dans une démarche qui vise à mettre en évidence les écarts entre le livre tel qu’il a été connu et tel qu’il a été conçu : malentendus, omissions, fidélités surprenantes. Réapparaissent ainsi les mots et fragments en turc ottoman et leur transcription, les portraits des sultans en couleur et même quelques anecdotes concernant l’ambassadeur du Roi-Soleil, que le traducteur essaie de cacher à ses lecteurs.

IMPERIAL SEAS. SPACES AND SOCIETIES FROM THE ADRIATIC TO THE BLACK SEA. Places of memory, heritage, material and immaterial traces

Organised with the support of ANAMED, the École française d’Athènes, the École française de Rome, CETOBAC, IMS, TELEMMe (AMU), and EURETES.

This summer school is a multidisciplinary training on the history, spaces, and societies of the “imperial seas” bordering the Balkan Peninsula (Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Adriatic Sea), from the Roman Empire to the present day. It offers an introduction to maritime history and a critical examination of national and regional historiographies devoted to maritime affairs in the Balkans. The2026 edition focuses on memory and heritage processes.

Grants and scholarships

Archeology

Observatory of Turkish political life

Since 2005, OVIPOT has been promoting the study of Turkish political sociology, both internally and in relation to international political dynamics.

Istanbul Urban Observatory

Since 1990, the Observatory has been studying the phenomena accompanying the metropolization of Istanbul. It is a center for research, information and resources.

Migration and Mobility Axis (AMiMo)

Founded in 2014, the “Migrations and Mobilities” (AMiMo) research axis of the Istanbul Urban Observatory, rooted in a tradition of research conducted at the IFEA, studies migration and mobility phenomena in relation to Turkey.
