Çatalhöyük – un village néolithique fouillé depuis 25 ans

Çatalhöyük est un village préhistorique occupé au Néolithique, situé dans la plaine de Konya en Anatolie centrale. À l’occasion de la fin du programme de recherche lancé par Ian Hodder (archéologue rattaché à l’Université de Stanford) il y a 25 ans, il est intéressant de revenir sur ce site préhistorique majeur, inscrit depuis 2012 au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO. Çatalhöyük a été découvert en novembre 1958 lors d’une prospection de la plaine de Konya menée par James Mellaart, archéologue britannique. La richesse du mobilier de surface et la taille conséquente du site ont mené J. Mellaart à considérer le potentiel de Çatalhöyük. Les fouilles commencent trois ans plus tard en 1961 et se poursuivent jusqu’en 1965. Mellaart y a découvert

Maissam Nimer (MireKoç)Refugee integration into the education system Thursday October 26 2017, 6pm, DEPO/Tütün Deposu The talk will be delivered in English This introductory talk will highlight the mechanisms of integration of Syrian refugees in the education system in Turkey, at a school level and at a university level, focusing on difficulties faced and solutions. It will also include a brief comparative overview with the Lebanese education system, to lay the groundwork for a discussion session with the participants and for the upcoming talks in the series in the next months.

Current Issues on Migration

Current Issues on Migration seminar series aims to bring together social scientists and members of the civil society to present and discuss each month an issue related to international migration and mobilities in Turkey. This year, we will focus on crucial aspects of refugees circulation and installation in Turkey, starting with Education (from October to December), and Work (from January to March).The Current Issues on Migration seminar series is held in collaboration with the Migration Studies Association (Göç Araştırmacıları Platformu – GAR).
