Excursion Urbaine #3 : Production de l’espace urbain et conflictualités socio-spatiales à Istanbul : recompositions territoriales autour de Haydarpaşa, Söğütlüçeşme et Acıbadem

Cette excursion urbaine propose d’analyser les transformations récentes de la rive asiatique d’Istanbul à partir d’un parcours reliant Haydarpaşa, Söğütlüçeşme et Acıbadem. Elle s’inscrit dans une approche de la ville comme produit de rapports sociaux et vise à mettre en évidence les conflictualités socio-spatiales liées aux projets d’aménagement. L’itinéraire permettra d’interroger l’articulation entre logiques de patrimonialisation, reconfiguration des fonctions urbaines et processus de mise en marché de l’espace, dans un contexte marqué par l’intervention d’acteurs publics et privés aux intérêts différenciés. Une attention particulière sera portée aux mobilisations locales, envisagées comme des formes de politisation des enjeux urbains et de contestation des modalités contemporaines de production de la ville.

Le rendez-vous est fixé à 10h devant Kadıköy İskele (arrivées des ferries depuis Karaköy et Eminönü). L’excursion se déroulera entièrement à pied, en longeant le littoral vers Haydarpaşa, puis en poursuivant vers Söğütlüçeşme avant de remonter en direction d’Acıbadem. Elle s’achèvera vers 13h et se prolongera, pour celles et ceux qui le souhaitent, par un repas partagé à Kadıköy (lieu à déterminer).

This urban excursion proposes to analyze the recent transformations of the Asian side of Istanbul through a route linking Haydarpaşa, Söğütlüçeşme and Acıbadem. It adopts an approach that considers the city as a product of social relations and aims to highlight the socio-spatial conflicts associated with urban development projects. The itinerary will examine the interplay between heritage-making dynamics, the reconfiguration of urban functions, and the commodification of space, in a context marked by the involvement of public and private actors with differing interests. Particular attention will be paid to local mobilizations, viewed as forms of politicization of urban issues and contestation of contemporary modes of city-making.

The meeting point is at 10:00 in front of Kadıköy İskele (arrivals of ferries from Karaköy and Eminönü). The excursion will take place entirely on foot, following the coastline toward Haydarpaşa, then continuing to Söğütlüçeşme before heading up toward Acıbadem. It will end around 13:00 and will continue, for those who wish, with a shared meal in Kadıköy (venue to be determined).
