Surveillance drones, the race to Mars, major climate disruptions… Our concepts of “nature” and “territory” are no longer academic theories; they are undergoing a radical and ultra-rapid transformation under technological pressure.
These upheavals are already redefining our daily lives and will dictate our choices for tomorrow. This is the central theme of the international symposium “Nature and Territory: From Epistemological Reflection to Methodological Approach”, which opens on May 21 at Galatasaray University.
Just a few months before COP31, which will be held here in Turkey, this meeting raises the crucial questions that will shape the (geo)political and environmental future of the region and, more broadly, the world.
On this occasion, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Nadia Fanton, Consul General of France in Istanbul, who will speak at the IFEA to close these two days of discussions on Friday, May 22.
Organizers:

Ayçanur TOP (PhD student, Galatasaray University), Charles GRZYBOWSKI (APD, CETOBaC, Ehess), Julie Alev DILMAÇ (GSÜ), Elena ASTAFIEVA (CNRS – IFEA)
