» Gecekondu neighborhoods: imbricated spaces, interlaced uses »
From a research on four districts of the historical peninsula of Istanbul and a work in progress on gecekondu’s areas, I question relationships and spatial transitions, beyond the legal status of public-private. Re-questioning the inside and the outside, focusing on devices and systems of relationship, the presentation will draw and/or re-draw gradations, infiltrations, nestings, the intertwining spaces and uses that make gecekondu neighborhoods.
