The Institut français d’études anatoliennes is a French research center under the aegis of the CNRS and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. It welcomes researchers and students working on Turkey, and promotes research programs in all fields of the humanities and social sciences.
LIFEA offers mobility grants and short-term scholarships for stays in Turkey to post-doctoral researchers who have defended their thesis in the social sciences and humanities.
Archaeology
Dipnot was the general distribution medium for the notes and reflections of IFEA researchers. It became the showcase for the Institute’s Archaeology unit.
Observatory of Turkish political life
Since 2005, OVIPOT has been promoting the study of Turkish political sociology, both internally and in relation to international political dynamics.
Istanbul Urban Observatory
Since 1990, the Observatory has been studying the phenomena accompanying the metropolization of Istanbul. It is a center for research, information and resources.
Migration and Mobility Axis (AMiMo)
Founded in 2014, the “Migrations and Mobilities” (AMiMo) research axis of the Istanbul Urban Observatory, rooted in a tradition of research conducted at the IFEA, studies migration and mobility phenomena in relation to Turkey.
